UPDATE: Arrest made in drug related Wausau crash

Wausau police say a Mosinee man has been arrested in connection to a fatal car crash on March 23.

That crash on Thomas Street killed Michael Dixon, 24, and critically injured his four-year-old son, Jordan Dixon. Jordan had brain surgery after the crash and has since been released from the hospital.

Autopsy results showed Michael Dixon was under the influence of heroin at the time of the crash. Wausau police say Kyle Kennedy, 22, gave heroin to Dixon before the crash.

Police say the deal happened at a gas station just a short time before the crash.

Police say Kennedy was booked on charges of delivering heroin, obstructing an officer, and bail jumping.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possible.

Kennedy will appear in Marathon County Court Friday at 2 p.m.
