UPDATE: Three people hurt in Waupaca crash

Posted: Updated:

Three people were hurt in a crash in Waupaca Friday afternoon.

According to the Department of Transportation, the crash closed all lanes of U.S. Highway 10 from Church Street to County Highway A. It happened just after 5:00 p.m. Friday.

Wisconsin State Patrol officials say a vehicle traveling on Highway 10 was rear-ended by another car, causing the first vehicle to flip over, ejecting the driver. That driver was flown to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said.

A passenger in that vehicle was taken to the hospital, but has since been released.

The other vehicle overturned in the median. Its driver was treated and released, according to Wisconsin State Patrol.

The names of those involved have not been released.

It took crews almost four hours to clear the scene.
