Murder charges filed against man arrested in Mosinee
Eau Claire (WQOW)- Murder charges were filed Tuesday against an Altoona man accused of killing his girlfriend last week in the home they shared.
Ying Xiong was charged with first degree intentional homicide in the death of 35-year-old Panhia Vue. She was strangled to death, and her body was found in a shed with her upper torso badly burned.
According to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday, Xiong told officers "I'm sorry for what I did, but she did something stupid." Police say he went on to tell them that he had been married twice before, and both times the women left him for other men.
Xiong was arrested last week in Mosinee.
Xiong is scheduled to return to court on July 9th.
