Two men were rescued from the Wisconsin River Monday afternoon.
It happened near the Thomas Street bridge in Wausau around 2:30 p.m.
Wausau fire officials say both men are 20 years old. They were pulled by a strong current under the bridge because of recent heavy rain, officials said.
Crews used floatation devices, rope and boats to pull the men from the water. Officials say both were checked by paramedics. They're expected to be okay.
It was a successful weekend hunt for numerous area kids who bagged their very first deer.
