Clark County swimming beach reopened

NEILLSVILLE (WAOW) – Clark County health officials say the swimming beach at Snyder Park has been reopened.

The beach was closed last Wednesday after water samples indicated high levels of E. coli bacteria in the water.

Bob Leischow of the Clark County Health Department said Monday that new testing showed the water quality “within more acceptable levels” so the beach was reopened and a water quality advisory was posted.

The beach along Snyder Lake is in Snyder County Park located about seven miles west of Neillsville.

Officials attributed last week's pollution problem to recent heavy rains in the area.
