UPDATE: Man pleads not guilty in connection to drug-related fatal Wausau crash

A Mosinee man has pleaded not guilty in connection to a fatal car crash. Wausau Police say Kyle Kennedy, 22, gave heroin to a 24-year-old man in March, just before he crashed into a Wausau bridge.

Michael Dixon was killed in that crash on Thomas Street , and his son, Jordan Dixon, 4, was critically injured. Jordan had brain surgery after the crash and has since been released from the hospital.

Police say Kennedy gave Michael Dixon the heroin at a gas station, just a short time before the crash. Autopsy results showed Michael Dixon was under the influence of heroin at the time of the crash.

Kennedy is charged with delivering heroin, obstructing an officer and bail jumping. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.

In Marathon County Court on Monday, a judge found probable cause against Kennedy, and the 22-year-old was bound over for trial.

Kennedy is expected back in court on Tuesday for a pre-trial conference.
