Pieces of history for sale to fund the Marathon County Historical Society

The Marathon County Historical Society (MCHS)  plans to sell pieces of the grape vine that grows on the pergola at the Yawkey House Museum.

Gary Gisselman of the historical society says gardeners have been rejuvenating the vine and during the process took clippings, which will be rooted in pots.

Historians believe the vine dates back to the 1840's which would make it older than the Yawkey Garden, which was built in 1910.

The vine pieces are expected to be available in July. You can purchase one for $10.00 by calling the Marathon County Historical Society at 715-842-5750  or info@marathoncountyhistory.org

Money from the sales will be used to fund programs at the MCHS.
