Governor seeking applicants for next Vilas County Sheriff


Governor Scott Walker is seeking applicants for the Vilas County Sheriff position.

This comes after the death of Sheriff Frank Tomlanovich after an illness.

The governor's office says the new sheriff will begin serving upon appointment and will complete a term ending January 5, 2015.

The new sheriff must reside in Vilas County at the time the appointment becomes effective.

According to the sheriff's office, application materials must be received no later than noon on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
