WAUSAU (WAOW) -

For the last four years, Zoey Vecellio has been working with people who live at Primrose Retirement Community in Wausau.

"Zoey is a tremendous person, she's very compassionate, loving," said Marge Engel, Primrose Resident.

Her love for the people who live at Primrose even influenced one of the biggest days of her life.

"She got her diamond at Christmas and she was so happy and she came in and showed it to all of us and we were happy," said Connie Hebert, Resident.

The wedding's been a year and a half in the making. Zoey and her groom, Anthony, planned it at Primrose for a reason.

"Some of our residents don't drive and it would have been quite a hike to go across town," said Zoey Vecellio, Bride.

"For me, making sure that her extended family here is part of the ceremony made absolute sense," said Anthony Vecellio, Groom.

"Almost like mother of the bride, but not, maybe like grandmother of the bride," said Hebert.

The crowd included the bride and groom's family, friends, and the guests of honor, the people who live at Primrose.

"Oh they are family, you spend every day with them," said Zoey Vecellio.

"I think she truly loves us and we love her," said Hebert.

The ceremony brought out a lot of emotion, including a few tears.

"I had to reach in my purse because it's a shame not to cry at a wedding," said Hebert.

The bride and groom said they spent a lot of time planning the special ceremony and picking the perfect wedding song.

"Well, I did all the planning, no, Zoey took care of the whole thing," said Anthony Vecellio.

The couple said they couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting, surrounded by the ones they love.

"This is quite an honor to be able to attend her wedding, we're very proud of that," said Engel.

A unique and special memory for everyone involved.

The couple said they're excited to be married, but next week it's back to work.

They plan to honeymoon next year.
