FRIENDSHIP (WAOW) – A masked gunman robbed a bank of some cash and stole a vehicle owned by a teller on Wednesday, the Adams County Sheriff's Department said.
The heist occurred about 9:30 a.m. at Grand Marsh State Bank about seven miles southeast of Adams-Friendship, Lt. David Carlson said.
Carlson said a man with a handgun and a mask pulled up from his neck over his face demanded money from three tellers in the bank and the keys to one of their vehicles, Carlson said.
The robber then fled in a white 2010 Kia Optima owned by one of them, the investigator said.
No one was hurt. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Carlson said.
The stolen vehicle had not been spotted or recovered by late Wednesday afternoon, Carlson said.
The robber was about 6 feet tall, with a slender build and possibly weighing about 190 pounds, investigators said. He wore a blue-colored hooded shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
