UPDATE: Kronenwetter man killed in motorcycle crash

The 21-year-old man killed after his motorcycle crashed with a pickup truck in Rothschild was from Kronenwetter.

Seth E.W. Stadler died in the crash, Rothschild Police Capt. Jeremy Hunt said Friday.

Hunt said a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old girl was exiting state Highway 51 from the ramp onto Business 51 about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and collided with the northbound motorcycle on Business 51.

"It appears that speed and alcohol may be contributing factors in crash," Hunt said in a statement Friday.

Hunt did not elaborate and no other details were released.

One person was killed after a motorcycle crashed with a truck in Rothschild.

Rothschild police say the two vehicles collided about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say a truck driven by a 16-year-old female was exiting Highway 51 onto Business 51. A motorcycle driven by a 21-year-old male was traveling northbound on Business 51. They both collided in the intersection there, police said. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The female driver was not hurt.

A portion of Business 51 in Rothschild was closed Thursday evening because of the crash.

A Marathon County Sheriff's team was on scene reconstructing the crash.

Authorities say speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. Police tell Newsline 9 no citations have been issued. The crash remains under investigation.

Names have not been released.
