GE CEO Immelt to address UW regents

Posted:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- General Electric Co. chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will be speaking to the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents at its Friday meeting.
The university says Immelt will talk to the board about "Leading the Productivity Revolution."
Immelt joined GE in 1982 and since then has held several roles in the company's plastics, appliances and health care businesses. He has been president and CEO since 2000.
Immelt has helped reshape GE, focusing on its more traditional operations, such as making complex industrial equipment and providing services to companies. GE also makes refrigerators, CT-scanners, wind turbines, gas turbines and engines for jets and trains.
About 6,500 people work for GE Healthcare in southeastern Wisconsin.
