Wausau city council to discuss logo, warming center and public access

Wausau City Council members will discuss several issues that have sparked community conversation at tonight's meeting.

City leaders will discuss a resolution that would approve moving the city's warming center. Organizers want to open the center at a new location on South 3rd Avenue this winter.

Also on the agenda, repealing an ordinance that would require homeowners to pave their gravel driveways.

Council members are also scheduled to discuss and possibly approve new guidelines for the city's public access channels. Earlier this year, several church leaders spoke out against a new plan to charge some groups, including churches, to air programming.

Many people have also been following the efforts of some council members to retire the "Welcome Home to Wausau" logo in favor of a new cityscape logo. A resolution to retire the old logo is set to be discussed and possibly voted on tonight.
