Wausau's U18 softball team fell to the Milton Wildcats, 7-5, on Saturday. With the loss, the Intensity were eliminated from the ASA Class B Fastpitch State Tournament.
The Wildcats came back in the bottom of the second inning after trailing by a run. Lindsey Jones hit an RBI into centerfield to bring Hannah Simes home as the tying run. Milton scored four more runs to take a commanding 7-3 lead.
Sam Laatsch hit an RBI triple in the third inning, scoring Kim Steif as the Intensity cut the Wildcat's lead to two runs by the end of the third. Wausau would leave the tying run at the plate in the sixth as Milton made the final out by beating a runner with the throw at home.
Wausau finishes the tournament with a 1-4 record.
