Portage County drug thefts reported

Portage County investigators are searching for two young women suspected of stealing medications.

The owner of Amherst Family Foods in the Village of Amherst reported the thefts.

He told police video surveillance showed two females taking boxes of medications off the  store shelves.

Then he said the thieves walked to another part of the store, broke open the packages and dumped pills in their purses.

The theft was reported June 13th.

But the store owner told police he believes similar thefts happened earlier,  because medications have turned up missing from the store.

The store owner has now moved the location of the medicines.
