UPDATE: New allegations against former Marathon Co. sheriff's wife

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -

The wife of former Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch who is awaiting sentencing on a drug conviction has been arrested in a new case, sheriff's officials said.

According to Lt. Bill Millhausen, Kim Hoenisch, 41, was arrested July 16 in the town of Berlin. She's accused of disorderly conduct and battery.

According to an incident report, Hoenisch was involved in an argument with a relative.

The report states the relative had told Hoenisch several times that she did not want her in the house, but Hoenisch did not leave. That's when the relative tried to call police but Hoenisch grabbed the phone and unplugged it, according to the report. The report goes on to state that the relative then yelled for her child to call police, but Hoenisch took that phone and smashed it against the fireplace.

Hoenisch had left the house before police arrived. But, she was later booked into the Marathon County Jail and released on bond, Lt. Millhausen said. She will be back in court in this case later this month.

This all comes as Kim Hoenisch is set to be sentenced August 12 in a burglary and drug-related case. Hoenisch, a one-time state probation agent, was convicted of three felonies - burglary, misconduct in office and possession of narcotic drugs - and two misdemeanors after pleading no contest to the charges.

Hoenisch was fired from her job after a state investigation concluded she had stolen prescription drugs from one of her clients.

According to the criminal complaint, Hoenisch burglarized the home of a probationer in June 2012 in search of pain medicine. Her attorney has said she's battled addiction since the 1990s due to pain from multiple knee surgeries.

Prosecutors have said they will recommend that Hoenisch be sentenced to 18 months in prison and two years probation. Her attorneys intend to argue for probation with some jail time.

Hoenisch's husband, Randy Hoenisch, resigned as Marathon County sheriff earlier this year amid criticism of his work habits and his wife's legal troubles.
