The Wausau Legion baseball team fell to Plover and Marshfield on Saturday at the regional tournament. The two losses ended the Bulldogs season while the Black Sox and Blue Devils will meet for the regional title and a berth in the state tournament on Sunday at 4PM.
The Bulldogs entered the fourth day of the tournament undefeated, previously beating both Plover and Marshfield earlier in the week. Plover had a 1-0 lead entering the fifth inning before the Bulldogs scored four runs to take a 4-1 lead.
But the Black Sox came back in the sixth with three runs of their own and then took the lead in the seventh. The game would be tied again before Plover took a 9-7 lead in the eighth and held on in the ninth to book their spot in the final.
Wausau fell behind early in the night session against Marshfield but rallied to tie the game. But the rally wouldn't be enough as the Blue Devils eventually took the lead and won the game 13-9.
