2 teens arrested in Weston gas station break-in

WESTON (WAOW) - Everest Metro Police say two teenagers have been arrested in a robbery in which two masked burglars smashed a front door and then stole cigarettes and alcohol from a Weston gas station.

Police released a picture captured by the IMR BP station's security camera showing the robbers bursting into the store on June 30.

Police Capt. Clayton Schulz said Monday that 16- and 15-year-old boys, both from Wausau, were arrested in separate incidents within days of break-in.

Police said the burglars threw a rock through the glass front door early in the morning as a clerk inside was preparing to open the station. The clerk fled to the back office and called 911.

Schulz said that “just interviewing local kids” and tracking down some information led to the arrests.

“I know we did get an admission from one of them,” he said.
