Police: 81-year-old crashes through Wisconsin Rapids bank
WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -
Wisconsin Rapids police say an 81-year old man pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake and drove his car through a bank window.
Police say the crash occurred on Sunday at Associated Bank in Wisconsin Rapids. Authorities tell Newsline 9 the bank was open at the time.
The worker who normally sits behind that window was on vacation.
"An 81-year-old male subject was trying to pull into a parking stall and I think he pushed the gas instead of the brake and basically struck the building," said Wisconsin Rapids Police Sgt. Michael Potocki.
No one in the bank was injured in the crash, police say. The 81-year-old man was reportedly just fine.
