Wausau West finished with just two wins last season. One of the biggest changes that the Warriors are dealing with is actually a lack of size on the offensive line.
Head coach Kevin Grundy will be working with smaller linemen than in previous seasons. But the 8th year coach says that West will make that up with "a lot of heart and tenacity".
The warriors open the season on the road at Marshfield a week from Friday. And they bring back a few players that earned all-Valley conference recognition last year, including senior linebacker Cole Radolff.
"Our d-line is pretty new so I think they'll have the jitters for the first couple of games," Radolff said. "But our whole team is going to be prepared. They've all played before so they're pretty seasoned. So that's going to help us in the long run too."
