Deerbrook motorcyclist killed in Oneida Co.


RHINELANDER (WAOW) – A 51-year-old motorcyclist from northern Wisconsin died from injuries suffered in a crash last week, the Oneida County Sheriff's Department said Monday.

Matthew Maierhofer of Deerbrook was killed in the crash that happened last Wednesday about 8:30 p.m. on County Highway B near Repinski Road in the Town of Schoepke, the sheriff's department said in a statement.

Maierhofer died Saturday from the injuries, Lt. Lloyd Gauthier said.

Maierhofer lost control of his motorcycle and slid across the centerline into the path of an oncoming vehicle, Gauthier said. The crash happened near Pelican Lake.
