Two local lifeguards honored for a life-saving rescue

Two lifeguards were honored Monday night in Schofield for what's called an act of heroism.

Last month Trevor Peck and Anna Grim rescued a 4-year-old boy.

They said the boy was unconscious in the water at the Rothschild-Schofield Aquatic Center.

The lifeguards performed CPR on him saving his life.

Monday night members of the Rothschild, Schofield, and Weston VFW honored the two giving them personalized plaques.

"It's very generous of them to do this we were just doing our job and I'm glad that everything worked out," said Trevor Peck.

"It's such an honor to be recognized by such respectable people," said Anna Grim.

"When we see something like this in the community we feel we have to step forward," said VFW Quartermaster, Joseph Kelbley.

A Rothschild police officer also attended the event to honor the lifeguards.
