Countdown to Kickoff: Greenwood/Granton

A lot has changed since Greenwood/Granton's Division 7 State Title in 2011. The Indians got a new coach and finished fourth last season in the Cloverwood.

G2 lost eight players to graduation and are also dealing with a few injuries from the first two weeks of practice, forcing some younger guys to step up.

Meanwhile, Jeff Trunkel enters his second season at the helm with a bit of a different attitude.

"Being my second year, I had a little bit more time to plan out as to what our goals are, what I'd like to accomplish," Trunkel said.

"Last year we had an experienced back field. We could use our speed quite a bit more. This year, we have speed but we have bigger guys in the back field. Young but a little bit bigger. "

Greenwood/Granton opens the season against Newman Catholic on Friday night.
