Many soaking up the last few days of summer

It was the perfect summer day, but some say a little too late.

"We've had one of our quietest summers on record," said Head Lifeguard at the Weston Aquatic Center, Evan Miller.

Lifeguards say this summer's weather has been less than ideal. But this week that's all changed.

"When I saw the weather forecast this week I had to double check because I was personally surprised because I signed up for a lot of hours and normally we don't get to get them," said Miller.

This Antigo family is soaking up every last bit of sunshine.

"It's refreshing, nice to come out here and have fun," said 8th grader Wade Farmer.

But the nice weather doesn't come without mixed feelings.

"I want to put this week back to when we had 40 degree weather. We could have come here a couple more days," said Farmer.

But many say at least they can take advantage of it now.

"At least it's not after school started and then they're like miserably looking out the window going why wasn't this earlier," joked  Maggie Flamingo.

School will be here soon. But, until then everyone agrees the warm weather is welcome, even if it is a little late.
