DHS investigating employee running racist website

Posted:
WASHINGTON (AP) -

A Homeland Security official says a department employee operates a racist website that predicts and advocates a race war.

Ayo Kimathi, an acquisitions officer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, operates a site called War on the Horizon. It is riddled with descriptions of an "unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race" and includes such claims as "in order for black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites -- more than our Christian hearts can possibly count."

The DHS official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

Though many of the sites postings may be inflammatory, they may not cross the threshold into unprotected hate speech.
