Lincoln Co. officials release name of drowning victim

TOMAHAWK (WAOW) - Lincoln County Sheriff's officials have released the name of the man who they believe drowned Sunday.

Officials say David J. Lewicki of Tomahawk was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say a 911 call came in around 4:30 p.m., reporting that a man had gone missing off of a pontoon boat.

A witness told investigators the Lewicki had been on the boat and went into the water to cool off and help a dog who had gone into the water.

Officials say when the man reached the dog, the two struggled and Lewicki disappeared under the water.
