Travelers on Highway 51 in Lincoln County faced some delays Monday afternoon after a hood flew off a car, causing a second vehicle's camper trailer to blow a tire.
This happened in Lincoln County near County Road S, south of Tomahawk, according to the Sheriff's Office. The hood came from a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville driven by a Schofield man. Lincoln County authorities say another vehicle swerved to miss the hood and blew out the tire on its 20-foot camper trailer.
"It took some time for deputies to get the scene cleared and get traffic moving again," according to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
The man whose car lost its hood was cited for not having insurance on his vehicle, Lincoln County authorities said.
