ANTIGO (WAOW) – The badly decomposed remains found near Antigo last month are those of 77-year-old Leonard Allen Peth, who was last seen in Antigo in February, Langlade County Sheriff Bill Greening said Tuesday.
Peth was identified through dental records, the sheriff said.
“The Langlade County coroner has ruled the cause of death as undetermined although no foul play is suspected,” Greening said in a statement.
A man going to check his deer stand discovered the remains near a bicycle on Aug. 22 just outside Antigo, authorities said.
Peth, who lived for many years in Milwaukee and had anti-government views, moved to Antigo in 2008 and was mostly a loner, Coroner Larry Shadick has said.
