UWSP to rely on returning QB for success

After going 2-8 last year, The UWSP football program is looking to turn things around in a major way.

The Pointers graduated 10 seniors, but have a bulky 40 juniors and seniors. Seven starters return on offense and defense.

Head coach Tom Journell is in his sixth year with the team but second year as head coach. And he says that the important thing is to have a returning quarterback.

"Whether its an Aaron Rodgers or a Brett Favre, who is that guy? Our guy has a lot of experience. He's a senior out from Fon du Lac," Journell said. "He's battle tested. He can run it, he can throw it. He's a field general. So when you have that guy back, there are a lot of expectations."
