38th annual Birds in Art exhibition kicks off

The 38th annual Birds in Art preview event kicked off Thursday night. The exhibit features about 125 works of art .

Organizers say hundreds of museum members and guests attended the event, including 71 artists who have their creations in the show.

Organizers say some of the artists came all the way from Japan, Italy, and England.

Birds in Art features paintings, sculptures, and graphics. Organizers say it's the best way to bird watch indoors.

"It's having that sneak peak at seeing the 2013 exhibition and it's seeing all the other new exhibitions," said Kathy Foley, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum Director.

Birds in Art is on display until November 10th.
The exhibit opens to the public on Saturday morning.

It's all part of Wausau's "Artrageous Weekend."
