Murder victim memorial at Wausau domestic violence event

WAUSAU (WAOW) -

A memorial will take place Saturday in Wausau for a woman found murdered June 11th in Eau Claire County.

Police say Pa Nhia Vue was strangled and her body burned by her husband. He is jailed awaiting trial on murder charges.

The service for Vue is at Wausau's Elder Sanctuary from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Plans call for a memorial for Vue to be held prior to a domestic violence event.

Organizers say that while the event is aimed at raising awareness in the Hmong community about domestic violence, the crime knows no cultural barriers and everyone is welcome to attend.

Donations are being accepted for Vue's 7 children through The Women's Community in Wausau.
