Marshfield attorney seeks state Assembly job

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) – A fourth Republican has joined the race to replace state Rep. Scott Suder, who resigned after serving in the Legislature for 15 years.

Alanna Feddick, an attorney and member of the Marshfield City Council since 2004, announced her candidacy for the vacancy in District 69.

I have learned so much from representing the folks in Marshfield on the city council,” she said in a statement Wednesday. “I want to help foster a strong business climate where employers are encouraged to locate and expand opportunities right here in central Wisconsin.”

Three other Republicans have indicated interest in running – Stratford businessman Bob Kulp, former Marshfield alderman Scott Noble and Granton bar and grill owner Tom Dahlen.

Gov. Scott Walker has called for a special election Nov. 19 to replace Suder, R-Abbotsford, who stepped down to take a higher paying job with the state Public Service Commission.

The deadline for filing nomination papers for the election is Sept. 24. If a primary election is needed to narrow the field of candidates, it will be Oct. 22.

District 69 covers all or parts of four counties – Clark, Marathon, Taylor and Wood.

So far, no Democrats have publicly announced interest in seeking the opening.
