Tomahawk woman dies from injuries in fire


TOMAHAWK (WAOW) – A 61-year-old woman injured in a weekend fire at her apartment has died, Tomahawk Police Chief Al Elvins said Wednesday.

Linda Engel died Tuesday at a hospital in Madison, Elvins said in a statement.

Firefighters responded to a fire at her apartment about midnight Saturday and found the facility full of smoke, Elvins said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
