Marathon County drug arrests

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department says several drug arrests were made after a traffic stop on Interstate 39 Wednesday.

Sheriff's officials say three people were taken into custody for various drug violations.

Investigators say a 50-year-old Chicago area man driving the car was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 31-year-old Chicago area man was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to deliver and possession of crack and powder cocaine with intent to deliver, sheriff's officials say.

A 27-year-old Wausau woman was also detained, according to the sheriff's department.

Investigators say the drugs were concealed in various parts of the "subjects' body."

The sheriff's department tells us 16 grams of heroin was seized, which they say has a street value of $8,000.

Investigators say 55 grams of crack and powder cocaine was also seized.
