VILAS COUNTY (WAOW) - The Vilas County Sheriff says no foul play is suspected in the death of Sandra Schinke.

The sheriff tells Newsline 9 that investigators hope to have a cause of death in the next few days after more test results come in.

Schinke's remains were found in a wooded area east of Sayner last week.

The sheriff says a hunter found Schinke's jacket and shoe in the middle of the woods on Sept. 16, prompting the search.

They  say weather caused some delays in the investigation. Officials say the remains were found near where Schinke lived.

Schinke vanished in April of 2012.

The sheriff says he believes Schinke's body was there the entire time.

Investigators are reviewing information with search teams to determine why they didn't find the remains weren't found sooner.
