Owen-Withee (4-0) at G2 (4-0), 7PM at Greenwood High School – GAME OF THE WEEK
In another match-up of unbeaten teams, last year's co-champions in the Cloverwood travels to face a Greenwood/Granton team led by Booker Bredlau, who has rushed for 448 yards this season. The winner will have full control of the Cloverwood heading into the second half of the season.
Marawood vs. Cloverbelt
Marathon (4-0) at Altoona (2-2), 7PM
Marathon handed Stratford its first loss of the season and is one of two teams still unbeaten in the Marawood. The ninth-ranked Red Raiders travel to Altoona for their first non-conference game of the year. The Railroaders sit in fourth place in the Cloverbelt and feature a rushing attack led by Connor Olson, who averages over 155 yards per game.
Assumption (1-3) at Athens (3-1), 7PM
The Bluejays aim for their third straight win, hosting an Assumption team that struggled against Abbotsford last Saturday. The Royals fumbled the ball twice despite rushing for 162 yards against the Falcons. Athens has yet to lose at home this season.
Phillips (0-4) at Edgar (4-0), 7PM
Besides Marathon, Edgar is the only other unbeaten team in the Marawood conference. The Wildcats average 42 points per game and has only allowed 18 points all year.
Stratford (3-1) at Tomahawk (1-3), 7PM
The Tigers look to bounce back from their first loss of the year last week against Marathon. It was their first shut-out loss since getting blanked by Regis, 50-0, on Aug. 30, 2012. The Tigers will rely on its 20 seniors to rebound from last week. Tomahawk looks to go two in a row after its 41-6 win over Phillips last week.
Wausau West (3-1) at Appleton North (4-0), 7PM
The Warriors already have more wins than they did last year but face their toughest test of the season when they travel to play undefeated Appleton North. The winner will likely have control of the VFA North. The Lightning feature a strong running game led by Ethan Danz. Fourteen of the team's 17 touchdowns this season have been scored on the ground.
Appleton West (0-4) at DC Everest (1-3), 7PM at Stiehm Stadium
These two teams are looking to turn their losing season into a winning one with just five games to go in the regular season. Neither team has won a conference game and Everest head coach Luke Coenen says that the key to success is just a matter of playing a complete game. "Our playoffs start early," Coenen said.
Appleton East (1-3) at Wausau East (1-3), 7PM at Thom Field
The Lumberjacks look to string two wins in a row after grabbing the first win of the Scott Mallien era last week on the road. Meanwhile, the Patriots suffered a demolishing loss to Kimberly, getting blanked 54-0 by one of the top teams in the VFA North. Wausau East has yet to win at home this year.
Oshkosh North (4-0) at SPASH (2-2), 7PM at Goerke Park
After starting the season 2-0, the Panthers have yet to win a conference game in 2013. In Week 5, SPASH faces the only undefeated team in the VFA South. Spartans QB Nate Neveau has already passed for more than 500 yards this season.
Antigo (1-3) at Merrill (2-2), 7PM
Merrill is coming off a narrow loss to Medford in Week 4, when the Bluejays were stopped three yards from the endzone in the final play. Merrill rushed for 290 yards in the Week 4 loss while Antigo is coming off a 28-7 loss to Mosinee. The Red Robins sit in third in the Great Northern with a 1-1 conference record.
Ashland (0-4) at Mosinee (3-1), 7PM
The Indians search for their second consecutive victory as they take on a winless Ashland team at home in Week 5. Mosinee has yet to win at home this season and is led by quarterback Zach Pyan, who has passed for over 600 yards this season.
Tri-County (1-3) at Rosholt (2-2), 7PM
The Hornets are coming off a thrilling double overtime victory last week over Boyceville. In this conference match-up, both teams are looking for their first win in the CW-10 this season.
Amherst (4-0) at Shiocton (4-0), 7PM
The Falcons put their 17-game winning streak on the line against undefeated Shiocton in a match-up of the top two teams in the CW-8. Amherst forced five turnovers last week in the 48-8 win over Pacelli. Shiocton has outscored its opponents 206-8 this season.
