OFFICIALS: Wind caused Marathon Co. plane crash

Marathon County Sheriff's Department officials say the wind caused a small plane to crash in Hatley on Sunday. They say no one was hurt.

They say the pilot was trying to land on a private airstrip on private property, when it caught a gust of wind, causing it to crash.

Authorities say the pilot was able to get out and the plane did catch on fire. They say because the plane crashed on the strip, only the plane was damaged.

Officials say it happened near Highway 29 just after 2 p.m. Sunday. They say the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
