Green Bay Packers go pink

Posted:

The Packers are going pink.

The green and gold are teaming up with Kohl's Cares to recognize national breast cancer awareness month. At Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, Packers players and Lambeau Field will display pink in a few different ways. Fans will receive a pink rally tower when they get to the field, cheerleaders will shake pink pom-poms, and players will be decked out in pink apparel.

"We've got the American Cancer Society, the local division, out in our parking lot Sunday and they will be selling pink ribbons that you can put on a fence in memory of or in honor of a person, a breast cancer survivor," says game and fan development manager Kandi Goltz. "That money will go locally to the community."

At the game, Bellin Health will recognize 30 breast cancer survivors. The survivors will be honored guests, and will be a part of the on-field ambassador line welcoming players to the field.

The national anthem will be performed by the University of Wisconsin marching band, and a pink ribbon will be unfurled on the field. The band will perform again at halftime and during the postgame.

During the weekend, Larry McCarren and Mike McCoy will be taking part in fan activities at the Packers Pro Shop, Tundra Tailgate Zone, and Legends Club before kickoff.
