Fallen Wisconsin firefighters to be honored Saturday
Gov. Scott Walker has ordered flags be flown at half-staff Saturday to honor Wisconsin firefighters who died in the line of duty last year.
Two of those firefighters worked in central Wisconsin fire departments.
According to a news release from the governor's office, this coincides with a national remembrance ceremony last week.
Four Wisconsin firefighters will be honored Saturday including Steven Fritz, the Rothschild Fire Chief who died in December 2012 after suffering a heart attack, and Jamison Kampmeyer, the Colby firefighter who died in March 2012 while fighting a fire at the Abbotsford Theatre.
"These men will never be forgotten, and their sacrifice is humbling," said Walker in a statement. "We'll be proud to honor them this Saturday."
