WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A benefit was held Saturday at the Elks Lodge in Wausau to raise money for Randlin Homes. That group helps homeless veterans.
The events featured a number of different auction items, including hotel stays and spa packages that were donated for the cause.
Participants could also buy lunch. Organizers say all the money stays right here in Wausau and is very needed.
"A lot of veterans have issues when they get out of the military and through no fault of their own, end up homeless. It can be very emotionally and mentally and physically destructive as well," said Vicki Kell from National Mutual Benefit Life.
Organizers say the event helps pay for day-to-day operations for Randlin Homes.
