Thursday Sports Report (10-17-13)

Tyus Groos broke a 1-1 tie in the second half before scoring two more goals to lead Pacelli to a 4-1 win over La Crosse Aquinas in the Division 4 Regional Final.

Groos' hat trick brought the senior forward's goal total to 39 this season, setting a new school record.

"I think the first one was just the go-ahead goal, I was really excited. That's when you could really feel the momentum shift and when I got the second one, that just kind of sealed the deal," Groos said.

"It feels great you know. I started wishing that I could play a couple more years, played with my brother back in the day but I'm glad with the choices I've made, especially this senior year."

Pacelli plays Marshfield Columbus Catholic in the sectional semifinals next week.
