Police seek thief caught by ATM camera

WAUSAU (WAOW) – A man suspected of breaking into a car and stealing a credit card was captured by a ATM camera trying to use the card, authorities said Friday.

Wausau Police released a picture of the man trying to use the stolen car at Valley Communities Credit Union on Third Avenue.

The car theft occurred Sept. 10 and the thief tried to use the card shortly after that, Detective Craig Dunbar said.

Evidence indicates the thief also tried to use the card at a pharmacy movie vending machine before the card's owner had it canceled, Dunbar said.
