Marathon County Youth Hockey will host Try Hockey for Free Day on November 2 at 11 a.m.
The event, which is open to boys and girls ages four to nine, will be held at Marathon Park, Rink 1.
It is designed to let kids try the sport for free and is a joint effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League and NHL member clubs.
Equipment costs are included in the program, but not the skates and a stick.
“To keep costs reasonable for parents, we've incorporated programs to provide first-year players with equipment for the season,” said Marathon County Youth Hockey President Bruce Leopold.
Registration costs are also waived for all first-year skaters, but registration is required.
