High school volleyball regionals continue Thursday night and for Emily Kind, that means another chance for the Marathon junior to be a big sister on the court.
Our athlete of the week says she'd do anything for her teammates, especially her younger sister, Amanda.
"I'm a team player," Emily Kind said. "I love team sports and volleyball is my favorite thing ever because I have such amazing people."
Emily kind is an amazing volleyball player herself. Marathon's middle hitter led her team in kills during the regular season. And no one vouches for her more than her younger sister.
"It was really fun watching her play because she's so inspirational and she's so fired up," Amanda Kind said.
Emily Kind says that it's so much fun to play with her older sister.
"I love her to pieces and it's so much fun to have an opportunity to play with my younger sister because I just want the best for her," Emily Kind said.
This is the first year the two sisters get to play together in high school. And it's made them grow closer together.
"Before the game, I always take her to the side, I give her a little freshman pep talk," Emily Kind said.
"(Emily) told me that it's time for playoffs, it's time to get our butt in gear and it's time to win," Amanda Kind said.
Just some advice from an older sister. Emily Kind, your Newsline 9 Athlete of the Week.
