The man killed in a one-car crash in Grand Rapids late last week was from the Town of Saratoga, authorities said Monday.
Douglas Coates, 49, died in the crash about 7 p.m. Friday, Officer Tammy Kubisiak of the Grand Rapids Police Department said in a statement.

Officials say around 6:49 p.m. Friday night, police responded to a one car crash in Grand Rapids near Whitrock Ave and 64th Street S. Police say a man was ejected from the vehicle, and was pinned under a tire. The 49-year-old from Wood County was pulled from underneath the tire of the vehicle and flown to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to officials.
Officials say an investigation into the crash is ongoing, and the name of the victim has not yet been released.
The Grand Rapids Police Department was assisted by the Wood County Sheriff's Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Grand Rapids Fire Department, Grand Rapids EMS, United Medical Emergency Response, Wood County Sheriff's Rescue, Spirit of Marshfield, Nieman's Service Inc., and Wood County Coroner.
