U.W. Stevens Point athletes put on a scare at "Haunted Trail"

Some U.W. Stevens Point athletes put on their scariest faces for the annual "Haunted Trail" event.

Dozens of people waited in line to venture out on the trail.

Organizers said the one-night event is all about giving back to the Stevens Point community.

They said the "Haunted Trail" is about a half-mile long and features themes like Monster Mash and zombies.

"We love doing it, it's fun, like I said, giving back to the community is really enjoyable and rewarding, so this is something, scaring people is a blast, so it makes it pretty easy for us," said Julie Krzykowski.

Organizers estimate about 100 people took part.

They said any donations from the event help the students and their volunteer efforts.
