WAUSAU (WAOW) – Wausau police say a 55-year-old Merrill man was arrested on suspicion of eighth offense drunken driving after officers were called to a strip club.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. Sunday at Showtime on Wausau's north side, according to police reports.
Kelly Kloss was charged in Marathon County Circuit Court with felony drunken driving on Monday and a judge set his bail at $5,000 cash, according to online records. His preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 13.
Police were called to Showtime on a report that an “entertainer” was attacked, but the suspect left before police arrived, leading to a traffic stop several blocks away, Lt. Mike Juedes said Monday.
Kloss was arrested for drunken driving, but Juedes said the strip club did not want to pursue other charges or give details about the alleged attack on the entertainer.
“They were just glad the guys were gone,” Juedes said.
