Thousands of dollars in Christmas decorations stolen from trailer

Lincoln County authorities say they're looking for the person who stole Christmas.

A Bloomville man reported $8,000 worth of holiday decorations stolen from a semi trailer parked on his property. Sheriff's officers say the man was selling the Christmas supplies to "The Living Room", a consignment shop in Gleason. Officials say them an went to drop the supplies off this past weekend. But, when he opened the back of his trailer, the decorations were gone.

Authorities say the trailer was not locked and had been parked at two different spots in the area around the time of the theft. Now, they're trying to piece together what happened.

"We're asking for community help. Where this was located apparently is not visible to other neighbors so it's likely that nothing would have been seen so it's just a matter of trying to gather any type of physical evidence that may have been left at the scene," said Lt. Tim Fischer of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.

The consignment shop owners did not want to go on camera, but they said they're disappointed about what happened.

Lincoln County authorities are asking anyone with information to give them a call at (715) 536-6272.
