Wausau house fire extinguished

A Wausau house fire has been put out, according to the Wausau Fire Department.

Fire officials say they received a report around 8:40 p.m. Thursday of fire and smoke in the bathroom of the Eau Claire Boulevard home. The Wausau Fire Dept. says they believe it was an electrical fire related to a ceiling fan or other sources in the bathroom. They say crews ripped holes in the ceiling to make sure no fire was still burning and nothing was found. Fire officials say everyone in the house was able to escape unharmed.

Crews are currently emptying the smoke out of the house. Fire officials say only the bathroom ceiling was damaged.
