WAUSAU (WAOW) -
A famous Wausau art exhibit is flying away for the year.
Sunday was the last day for the Birds in Art exhibit at the Woodson Art Museum. Painters and sculptors from across the world displayed their bird art.
Organizers say about 15,000 people came to the exhibit and that they're already preparing for next year.
"Right after Birds in Art opens we're assessing how things went and how can we tweak it to make it better or more interesting and new and fresh and so that is something that goes on throughout the year," said Communications Coordiator Amy Beck.
Some of the artwork from the exhibit will now hit the road as Birds in Art will be displayed at stops across the country.
